TULIP TANK KAL Level: Intermediate Fee: Free with purchase of supplies
tulip tankAt first bud a tulip’s elongated petals are packed tightly, protectively hugging its center, but it doesn’t take long for the stance of the petals to soften. Those lovely ovals separate slightly and open finally, giving a glimpse of what’s inside. Even as the petals flounce, they remain in an embrace, now catching the sunlight, as well as the attention of admirers. Wanting to experience the beauty and femininity of a tulip’s structure, this Tulip Tank Top was designed to wrap and overlap, to gently hug one’s center… maybe even to attract some admirers! Kelly is knitting with Shibui Lunar to create this project.

Session 1: Wednesday 7/11, 7/18, 7/25
11:00 am– 1:00 pm      Kelly Bettinger

nasreenThe front and back of Nasreen are worked separately and seamed. Each piece is made of a vertical panel worked from the bottom up, a diagonal panel worked by picking up stitches along the edge of the first panel and a neckband worked by picking up stitches
at the top edge. The front and back are then joined at the shoulders with a 3-needle cast off and the sides are seamed. Stitches are then picked up around the armholes for a neat finish.
While the ribbing and neck band are worked in a single colour, the garter stitch panels are worked in two-colour stripes by changing colour every 2 rows.
